About Me
Who I Am
I am Abeer, a highly specialist speech and language therapist and a specialist assessor and practitioner in dyslexia. I have extensive experience working with children and young adults from 18 months up to 25 years old (holding EHCPs) with a range of speech, language, communication and literacy needs.
I have worked in both the NHS and private sector, collaborating with local authorities to deliver specialist support for children with a range of different diagnoses, including: Developmental Language Disorder (DLD), ASD, Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, RETTS, Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, stammering, hearing and visual impairment, etc.
I have a wealth of experience in establishing and managing speech and language services across North East London in conjunction with the school’s ethos, plans and regulations. I provide specialist training to schools, families, students, and other professionals involved in the child’s care. I also focus on my own continues professional development to ensure I am using he most up-to-date research based interventions.
I’m registered with the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC) and I am a certified member of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT). I am a member of the Dyslexia Guild and I have a complete and up-to-date enhanced DBS check.
Over the years, I have developed interest in the connection between language and literacy, and the effects it has on accessing the curriculum. In addition to that, my passion for supporting both language and literacy have allowed me to further support children and young adults in accessing spoken and written language using Assistive Technology and Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) devices.

My Philosophy
I do believe that every child deserves the chance to access communication whether verbally, through writing, typing, communication using high-tech devices, or any other method of communication.
Building a rapport with me is easy as I am passionate about making the assessments and therapy sessions fun and exciting. I make sure children are engaged and enjoy the sessions. I go down to the child’s level and love following the child’s lead whether we sit on the floor or on the table.
I will continue to support children and young adults to access the curriculum, continue to have social opportunities, and be part of the community through the use of spoken and written words, assistive technology, and low and high-tech Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) devices – thriving to make the impossible possible!
